Our Mission
To work with community-based strategic partners from various sectors to improve the overall health of Fullerton residents over the next five years.
OUR vision
All health disparities are eliminated and every resident of Fullerton is educated on leading a healthy lifestyle, and has access to the necessary tools to implement healthy living behaviors.
Goals and objectives
MMEH Fullerton Plan Goal: Implementation and evaluation of city and organizational policies and systems that support a healthy lifestyle assisting Fullerton residents to make healthy choices.
The “Move More, Eat Healthy Fullerton” initiative plan will consist of several key program areas focused on:
Fitness and physical activity
Nutrition, Weight Status and Healthy Lifestyles Education Health and nutrition education for youth and adults
Community Sponsored Health and Fitness Events
Local Businesses Promoting a Healthy Community
Adolescent health
Senior Adult Health and Safety
Vaccination
Mental Health & Mental Disorders
Program Area Goals:
Goal 1 (Fitness and Physical Activity): Provide access to exercise equipment in public areas such as local parks to increase physical activity options at no cost to residents. Revitalize existing green space to encourage greater outdoor physical activity such as, walking, biking and running.
Goal 2: (Nutrition, Weight Status and Healthy Lifestyles Education):Provide access to healthy food options and more nutritious choices through community gardens, farmers market, and other sources of locally-grown foods. Educate residents about the benefits of and methods for eating a healthy food diet, which can significantly contribute to a reduction in instances of obesity. Promote healthy food options policies in schools, at community events, government & business.
Goal 3: (Community Sponsored Health and Fitness Events): Plan, distribute and execute a calendar of community events throughout the year that will encourage and promote active lifestyles, healthy eating, and general well-being of all residents.
Goal 4: (Local Businesses Promoting a Healthy Community): Work with local businesses in the community to play a vital role in promoting a healthy community and foster greater participation in health related programs and initiatives.
Goal 5: (Adolescent/Young Adult Health): Improve the physical and emotional health, as well as, overall well-being of adolescents and young adults within the community by providing programs geared toward their specific needs.
Goal 6: (Senior Adult Health and Safety): Improve health and safety, and overall quality of life for older adults in the community by expanding programs targeting this population.
Goal 7: (Vaccination): Increase awareness and promotion of COVID-19 vaccine
Goal 8: (Mental Health & Mental Disorders): Increase opportunities and awareness of Mental Health support available to community.
